Hi, I'm Steph.

I’m Steph Osberg, the person behind Osberg Solutions. I work with nonprofits, community organizations, and small businesses to make technology more useful and less overwhelming.

My work brings together databases, websites, reporting, custom apps, and practical training. I start by listening: what are you trying to accomplish, who needs to use the system, and what would make the work easier?

My approach is shaped by community work and facilitation. I care about clear communication, collaboration, and tools that support the people using them.

What matters in my work

Technology decisions are always people decisions. These five principles guide every project I take on:

People come first.

Systems should bend to serve people, not the other way around. The real test of any tool is whether it makes someone's day easier.

Clear explanations matter.

No jargon, no tech gatekeeping, and no making people feel behind. Questions are always welcome, and every workflow can be explained in plain language.

Build around real needs and capacity.

A simpler system that a team actually uses and maintains is infinitely better than an elaborate setup that gathers digital dust.

Make room for different ways of learning and working.

People take in information differently. Good infrastructure includes thoughtful interfaces, clear reference guides, and patient walkthroughs.

Help people feel comfortable using their tools.

Confidence is built through supportive practice, obvious next steps, and error messages that guide rather than blame.

Working from inside community

I live and work in Halifax, Nova Scotia (Atlantic Time). I collaborate with volunteer boards, busy nonprofit directors, small business owners, and community coordinators across the Maritimes and beyond.

Because I work directly with you rather than handing your project to an agency sales team, you always know who is building, maintaining, and supporting your systems.
